When the mercy and grace of God manifested through the hand of a great visionary philanthropist, there arose a space in the heart of wayanad district which became a symbol of hope and peace to thousands of people suffering in pain and misery. People who had bleeding hearts and burdened with the challenges of life. People who were homeless. People who were thrown into the quagmire of helplessness due to chronic diseases. They all found peace here.
This place is called peace village. The philanthropist who founded this Centre is Muhammad haji. He is the Managing director of Talal group in dubai. He owns a chain of over 100 supermarkets in GCC. But he doesn’t have the pride and arrogance of being a multimillionaire. His humility and vision is what helped this center to flourish. He single handedly funded the construction of an entire campus for the sake of humanity.
I have often thought how Better the world would have been if the affluent amongst us gave back to humanity with what God has blessed them with. Imagine the amount of people we could bring back to life from the depths of poverty and hunger. Subhanallah!

A Rendezvous with Difference!
Providence made us meet at a certain juncture in life and that too at a far-off place. Fortune made us stay closer, adding value to life from the bonhomie and mutual regard built over Twenty years. As we feel the approaching evening of life, the urge to further strengthen the bond is growing within us day by day. We have spent hours, putting our hearts and heads together, to churn out that emotional glue. Covid delayed the process for a few months; but the fire within was still intact.
How about an experience that would hold a mirror up to our own future lives? We often learn about persons who always hogged the limelight in the prime of their life but end up as forlorn souls shunned by family and friends. What is that we should be sharing amongst ourselves and others to lead purposeful and gratifying lives? The persistent search for answers took us to a haven of peace nestled in the enchanting mountains of Wayanad. The Five longtime friends came in with a purpose, with their families in tow – as they are very much an integral part of their future. The Peace Village environs in Pinangod provided us exactly what we were looking for – seek out and adopt a worthy cause that would embellish and enrich our future lives to no end.
Wayanad was unusually cold for the part of August we were there. But the warmth of relationships we experienced have energized our resolve to be a part of an ennobling mission. Muhammed Haji, the self-effacing business tycoon and Sadarudheen sb, the erudite Scholar found God amidst the troubled hearts and ruffled minds. As the team led by them passionately extend the healing touch to denizens of this hallowed place day in and day out, the peace and contentment that permeates every nook and corner transmits that surreal feeling of God’s ultimate pleasure to every kind heart. The expansive corridors and well-ventilated hallways, hygienic premises and tasty nourishments and the care and empathy that tops up everything else affords an uplifting experience to every member of the extended family. Even as we spotted near perfection in everything we came across, we also identified areas where our skill sets, and exposure could still add value to the process on hand.
Understandably, we departed with a tinge of sadness. But what remained uppermost was a sense of gratitude to everyone who received and accepted us as members of this enviable family. We thanked The Almighty for this transformational encounter, tagging it with an assurance that life won’t ever be the same again.
